In Czech with English subtitles
Everyone who regularly watches arguements on social networks can be frustrated by resolute "truths," aggressive advocacy of conspiracy theories of all kinds, and relativizations of scientific facts. How to orient yourself in a society overwhelmed with information?
In a postmodern fragmented world, it seems that the laws of nature, which we thought we shared, can be denied. Is the Earth round at all? What did Giordano Bruno die for? Are truth and knowledge worth great sacrifices? Or is it enough to get upset anonymously while sitting in front of a computer? And has everyone their own truth without discussion?
About the theatre:
The Alfa Theatre started its activity as a puppet theatre in 1966 and to this day it focuses on theatre work for children and adolescents. In one of its dramaturgy lines, it draws on the roots of Czech folk puppeteers developing their legacy in the context of contemporary puppet theatre, in another line, it explores alternative puppetry approaches to classical titles or original theatre. Alongside their work for the youngest ones, the theatre makers are also trying to reach out to the demanding teenage audience through European projects. Thanks to its masterly work with puppetry, Alfa is a much sought-after guest at many national and international festivals. Since 1967, the ALFA Theatre has been organising the Skupa’s Pilsen Festival.
