The dawn of the 1950s. A handful of fearless hunters are scattered along the northeastern coast of Greenland. Solitude, rationing, harsh weather... in such conditions, it is not always easy to keep a cool head. Yet the vast wilderness, majestic snowy plains and incredible stories of our faithful companions awaken in us a desire for adventure and freedom. Is it true, fiction or myth? Who knows. But one thing is certain: these extraordinary stories will enchant you! Short stories full of humour and humanity, Arctic Safari and Other Stories from Greenland (the book by Jørn Riel was published in Czech translation by Garamond in 2021), have also been adapted into a comic book (Hervé Tanquerelle). We present them to you in a theatre production in which puppetry, storytelling, music and sound design blend into one crazy and poetic universe.

About the artist:
The artistic collective, La Ruée vers l’or (“Gold Rush”), was created from the collaboration of two long-time friends. Alexandre Harvey is a composer and multi-instrumentalist who enriches his compositions with sound effects and sampling. Anne Lalancette has been working as a puppeteer for almost 20 years in theatre, TV and film productions. Together they share a unique sense of humour and an exceptionally sensitive sense of rhythm. They draw inspiration primarily from the world of graphic novels and cult auteur films. The collective specializes in “tabletop” puppet theatre accompanied by live music and sound effects, intended for both adult and teenage audiences. Their performances are dynamic, infectiously energetic, visually sophisticated and built on close contact with the audience.
