Music as a guide through the universe, the landscape and its rhythm, and also as simple joy. A cocktail of scents, sounds and images, just drink it.

About the artist:
Cakes and Puppets is an independent alternative puppet theatre performing for both children and adults. It was founded in 1991 in a Cheb dormitory by recent graduates of the Puppetry Department of the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. Since then, they have performed over 60 theatre premieres for adults and children, puppet and animated films and clips, many one-off projects in the field of non-traditional theatre, music, visual arts, film and their mix. Currently, Cakes and Puppets regularly perform as a permanent guest at the Švanda Theatre Studio in Smíchov, Prague, where they also have their own small base, but they are often on the road. They perform around 250 shows a year across the Czech Republic and abroad.
The Prague ensemble, Collegium Marianum, has specialized in the so-called historically informed interpretation of Baroque and Renaissance music since its foundation in 1997. Under the artistic direction of flutist, Jana Semerádová, the ensemble is not only dedicated to concert activities and the revival of unjustly neglected works from Czech and European archives, but also systematically focuses on stage projects. The ensemble is characterized by the connection of Baroque music with dance, pantomime and puppet theatre, which allows it to create specific staging forms that communicate with the modern audience through historical aesthetics. The ensemble is also the organizer of the international festival, Summer Festival of Ancient Music.
