What can be said about Ony? For all those who have become used to Marta Guśniowska's texts - funny, heart-warming fairy tales, often turned on their heads - Ony may come as quite a surprise. It is a lyrical story about the life of Ony, whom we meet as an eight-year-old boy and part with at the end of his unusual life.
The performance was staged by director Jacek Malinowski. It is full of plot twists and original multimedia effects created by Mauntas Baurgaustas. The authors of music and set design are well-known Lithuanian artists Antanas Jasenka and Giedre Brazyte, who have often collaborated with the Bialystok Puppet Theatre in the past years.
Ony is fun for the whole family. Everyone will find something to their liking in the show. Some will be captivated by the surprising adventures of the main character, others will enjoy the play with words or philosophical reflections.

The Bialystok Puppet Theatre (BPT) is one of the most prestigious venues on the cultural map of north-eastern Poland and one of the best puppet theatres in the country. The theatre has been in continuous operation on a professional basis since 1953. It stages performances for both children and adults, with 5 to 6 premieres every season. The theatre uses a variety of puppet techniques (hand, java or marionette puppets, art and non-conventional forms), forms of visual theatre, object theatre, mask theatre and actor’s theatre. The most prominent artists who have been or are engaged with the BPT include Jan Wilkowski, Adam Kilian, Jan Dorman, Leokadia Serafinowicz, Wojciech Wieczorkiewicz, Andrzej Dziedziul, Piotr Tomaszuk, Tadeusz Słobodzianek, Marek Waszkiel and Jacek Malinowski.
