O stands for the greedy Otesánek but other things start with “o” in the Czech language, too: circumference, determination, snack, threat … all of them in a horror puppet show based on a well-known fairy tale.
The production was created with the support of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague as an end of semester work of 2nd year students at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at the Academy.
About TMEL:
TMEL is: Berta Doubková, Antonie Rašilovová, Viktor Prokop, Nick Ferenc, Jan Froněk and Jakub Müller. We are currently students at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. We teamed up for our first production of O as Otesánek, which we created as part of the end of semester thesis. We are happy about the theatre that we will make in the future. We have performed at several festivals such as Tremendous Trifles at Alfréd ve dvoře Theatre, One Flew Over the Puppeteer’s Nest in Minor, Puppeteer’s Chrudim, and Prague Fringe Festival and we have also performed at the Comedy Theatre.
